Lake Therapy’s Graduate Sports Therapists all hold either a BSc or MSc degree in Sports Therapy.
This means that, like our Physiotherapists, they will meet with you, and discuss your issues and how they're affecting your life before going through a thorough examination process and devising a treatment plan for you.
At Lake Therapy Farnham, we have Graduate Sports Therapists that are skilled in many areas, including;
- Soft tissue massage
- Western Acupuncture
- Joint mobilisation
- Exercise advice
- Posture correction
- And much, much more.
As holders of BSc or MSc degrees, they are equally qualified to assess and treat musculoskeletal pain and injuries as a Physiotherapist is.
People often ask us the difference between physios and graduate sports therapists, and it’s a good question.
Physiotherapists complete a 3-year BSc degree or a 2-year MSc degree to qualify. During this time, they must study key skills in musculoskeletal problems and also complaints of the respiratory and nervous systems. As such, only a small proportion of their degree programme study is spent on musculoskeletal rehabilitation - which is what we specialise in at Lake Therapy.
In contrast - Graduate Sports Therapists spend the whole of their degree studying musculoskeletal complaints and so are more highly specialised from the start.
At Lake Therapy Farnham, we will match you with the therapist we believe best suits your needs, irrespective of professional title, unless you are attending for a neurological or respiratory complaint.
