Posture
About Posture
Many people suffering with neck pain and headaches do so because of changes in their posture.
Believe it or not, your head is about the weight of a bowling ball! If your head is being carried in ‘optimal’ postural alignment this doesn’t stress your spine as the load is well distributed. However, even a slight change in posture - usually resulting in the head moving forwards - increases the strain massively through the neck and shoulders!
Our Approach
As Physiotherapists, we will assess your posture in your initial consultation and then create a unique plan to tackle your pain.
Causes Of Bad Posture
There are a number of problems both physical and psychological that can affect your posture.
- Pain or past injuries in other areas - when you experience pain in any other part of the body, you tend to overcome the pain by holding your body in a different position.
- Low nutritional state.
- Extra weight.
- Habit.
- Your job.
- Lifestyle and fashion.
